It’s part of the month-long initiative called “Times Square Moment: A Digital Gallery” that features the work of Robert Wilson.

The video portraits (including RDJ’s) will continue to be on display until May 31.  The best locations to view them will be at Military Plaza and Duffy Square.

President Obama Tops List of America’s Favorite Unexpected Musicians; Actors Meryl Streep and Robert Downey, Jr. Tie for Second

This year, President Obama claimed the number one spot in NAMM’s annual survey on America’s favorite “Unexpected Musician,” a personality not primarily known for playing a musical instrument, with a majority of 29 percent. Since crooning a few lines of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” at a New York fundraising event in January, the president has captured America’s heart with his surprising talent.

In an interview with Barbara Walters one month prior, he revealed that he deeply regrets not having learned a musical instrument in school. Seasoned Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep (violin) tied with actor Robert Downey, Jr. (piano, vocals) for second-place, both securing 24 percent of votes

Key survey findings include: More women (28 percent) than men (23 percent) were excited to discover that President Obama is a vocalist, while 20 percent of women and 27 percent of men were excited to learn that Robert Downey, Jr. sings and plays the piano.

Millennials were most excited to learn about President Obama’s (30 percent) and Robert Downey, Jr.’s (30 percent) musical talents. Here’s a thing we like: Robert Downey Jr., total babe-status dad, has a son who’s in a band. It gets better: He’s cute, and his name is Indio Falconer Downey … It gets even better: His band, The Seems, released their debut single. The title? “Buysexual.”

The band recently played a show at L.A.’s famed Viper Room, and they’re reportedly inking a deal with Warner Bros., which means we’ll probably be hearing a lot more of these guys in the future.

Robert Downey Jr. wants to teach you math!

Robert Downey Jr. has been all over the publicity circuit to hype up The Avengers. Browsing his various photo ops, we noticed an unexpected constant: When waving to crowds or paparazzi, RDJ often holds up a different number of fingers. Is this a signal? Is he silently alerting us to his prediction for his film’s worldwide box office, in billions? No, we have decided that what he’s actually doing is using his red carpet time to also teach today’s grade schoolers how to do simple arithmetic. By combining some of his brandished numbers, you get a wonderful math primer that kids can learn from … while also begging their parents to take them to see The Avengers, in 3-D! Sesame Street has nothing on Iron Man.
